I have been working with Crossroads over the past 1-2 years as the needs have changed for my parents who live alone in GR. They have been absolutely FANTASTIC. In the beginning, they helped me find a caregiver service to send someone with my Mom and Dad to doctor appointments, help with grocery shopping and running errands. Then when my Dad went into the hospital for the flu and we were told he could not return home, Crossroads went above and beyond to help support me to find the best place he could move into last second with an open room and the dementia/Alzheimer's care he needed. They put TWO people on the job because I had to unfortunately react quickly given the hospital needed him moved to memory care right away. Natalie was the person who helped me manage the uncertainty and the great thing about her - she checked in with me even after my Dad was placed in a home to see how I was doing, check in on any feedback with my experience, etc. I don't know what I would have done without Natalie's patience, guidance and support throughout the process of supporting my elderly parents. I had to move my mom to my home and Julie helped me find several solid leads of in home caregivers to choose from. 4 months later I had to urgently move my mom to a senior living option. I called Julie on a Monday she sent out a bunch of inquiries and I was touring the perfect senior living center by Monday afternoon. My mother was moved by Wednesday so she could get the care she needed for her increasing dementia and other mental health issues. Julies compassionate and quick response made a difficult process so much more seamless. This area of caring for aging parents is so difficult and one you aren't an expert in until you absolutely need to be, Crossroads takes all the guess work out and is the expertise you need at your fingertips. Julie Johnson was very helpful. She gave me a list of assisted living facilities and contacted the facilities that accepted Medicaid Waiver. When I couldn't find anything affordable in Ottawa County, I asked her for a list of facilities in Kent County. She responded quickly and sent me a new list and contacted some facilities.
